Victorian 1890's women's white cotton and eyelet lace full
length petticoat under slip.
slip has an elastic waistline with a hook/eye closure that goes in the back, not the side; at rest it measures 28" -
stretched out it measures 36", so should fit anyone between a 28" waist & a 36" waist.
bottom 15" is trimmed with a wide eyelet lace ruffle over another under plain ruffle.
small area of damage to eyelet lace near the bottom that is unnoticeable.
one area of repair up near the small of the back; the repair measures 16" across & can be seen
in the 2nd picture as a horizontal line; It was made to look like one of the lower plain ruffles & it is a repair.
are also three tiny fleabite size holes, all in the back near this repair. You can see in the 2nd photo a
tiny dark speck that is one of the fleabites. The other two are just between the bottom of the repair and just above the beginning
of the plain ruffles for the rest of the slip & you can see one of them as a dark speck on the slip. The front is perfect.
The condition is
good to very good considering age.
Tiny areas of wear here and there, as would be expected for a garment of this
age. Nothing terribly serious.
Very nicely made, nice weight, & is nice enough to
wear as a skirt for summer.
